Two teams win in rain hit TBPO softball cricket weekend
Just For the Fun and Bank of SVG All Starz were the teams that were able to notch up victories, as the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organizationâs Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition was hit heavily by rain at the Dauphine Playing Field.
Play was possible in Saturdayâs second match, as Just for Fun won by four runs at the expense of Gomea Bombers.
Just for Fun made 76 all out in 13 overs, with Julius London making 20.
Bowling for Gomea Bombers, Alwayne Quashie snapped up 3/6.
But Gomea Bombersâ batting was floored for 72 all out in 16 overs; Keson Williams made 20.
Doing the restricting job with the ball for Just for Fun were Roger Francois â 4/20 and Julius London â 3/20.
The other match that saw action on Sunday was Bank of SVG All Starz winning by 170 runs over Smart Snipers.
All Starz batted first and posted 227/8 in 20 overs. Ron Adams lashed 58, Godwin John, 39 and Kelly Murray and Glenroy Dasent 26 each, combining to see All Starz to 277/8 from their 20 overs.
In between the All Starz batting onslaught, Oneil Sayers snared 3/33 and Israel Baptiste 2/39.
In reply, Smart Snipers were 57 all out in 17.1 overs, as Dwayne Williams took 3/18, Ron Adams 2/7 and Kelly Murray 2/15.
There were two rained out matches, as Country Meet Town Outa Trouble was to play Computec Older Boys in Saturdayâs first match and Sundayâs last match should have brought together Nice Radio Clinchers and Dipcon Road Warriors.
The teams will all share the points.
Meanwhile, reports are that organizers will determine the outcome of the match between Challengers and Topi Fresh Top Shotters.(RT)
