Ruddy’s Electrical win one, lose one in North Leeward 20/20

Former winners of the VINLEC North Leeward 20/20 cricket competition Ruddy’s Electrical had a mixed bag last Sunday at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.

Ruddy’s Electrical had a five-wicket win over House of Graphics Summerset, but lost on a faster scoring rate to Robertson Surveying Future Legends.

Summerset scored 146 all out off 17.5 overs, with Mervin Cato making 46 and Jadiel Chance, 26.

Bowling for Ruddy’s Electrical, Mickron Mc Dowald snared 4 for 24.

In response, Ruddy’s Electrical reached 150 for 5 off 16 overs. Joelano Neil scored 70 not out, while the diminutive Kurtney Franklyn picked up 2 for 23.

Facing Future Legends, Ruddy’s Electrical made 119 all out off 14.3 overs, with Norlan Williams top scoring with 41 and Ian Allen hitting 20.

Bennitton Stapleton grabbed 3 for 13 and Rajiv Roberts, 3 for 18.

Rickford Walker scored 27, as Future Legends reached 58 for 2 off 5.4 overs when rain ended play. At that juncture, Future Legends were ahead of the scoring rate.

Meanwhile, in the other matches, there were wins for RSVG Police and defending champions Peto Stars.

On Saturday, RSVG Police defeated Big League by 78 runs.

Police posted 167 for 4 off 15 overs, as the match was reduced because of a wet pitch.

Desron Maloney led the lawmen’s scoring with 58 and Selwick Caine contributed 53, not out.

But Big League was sent packing for 89 all out off 10 overs. Kuthbert Springer was the main contributor, with 26.

Doing the job with the ball was Casnel Morris, who had 3 for 12 and Sylvan Spencer, 2 for 18.

And, Peto Stars joined in by stopping Upsetters by 183 runs.

Peto Stars amassed 234 for 4 off 20 overs. Ronique Laborde scored 77 not out and Arben Neverson, 50, not out.

Upsetters replied with 51 all out off 11 overs. Damion Matthews grabbed 4 for 9.

Another four matches are listed for this weekend.

On Saturday, from 10 a.m., Kishore Shallow Coulls Hill Rangers meet Upsetters and from 2 p.m., Ruddy’s Electrical face Warriors CC.

On Sunday, from 10 a.m., Carlos James Troumaca Starlight face off with Kishore Shallow Coulls Hill Rangers and Peto Stars play Big League from 2 p.m.
