Diamonds Football League standouts compensated

The outstanding footballers who showed their wares in this year’s Hairoun Diamonds Village Football League, last Sunday were justly rewarded at the closing and presentation ceremony.

Keyon Lynch of second placed Caesar’s Real Estate Defenders was named Best Goalkeeper, while Brad Richards of Sparta FC took the Best Midfielder award.

Meanwhile Kendol Douglas of third place Youngsters FC got the nod as the Best Defender.

Romario Dennie of Caesar’s Defenders, got the Golden Boots Award, for scoring the most goals in the competition.

He also was the recipient of $200, for netting twice in the final against SV United. Ronaldo Edwards gained $100, for also registering a goal for Caesar’s Real Estate Defenders.

The cash awards to Dennie and Edwards were a fulfilment of a promise made by the team’s sponsors, Caesar’s Real Estate.

And, Gerald Simmons of Caesar’s Real Estate Defenders was adjudged the Most Outstanding Coach.

Sixteen teams contested this year’s competition.
