SLSA elects new executive

The South Leeward Sports Association has a new executive in place.

This, after 15 of the 17 affiliate villages and clubs made the process possible last Wednesday at the association’s Annual General Meeting, held at the Bethel High School.

Heading up the executive to serve for the next two years, is Wayne Grant, elected as president.

Grant beat Joseph Ballantyne 9-6 in the run-off for the top spot. Ballantyne then beat Rosalo Mc Mc Kie, 9-6, to be elected as the vice-president.

Meanwhile, Otnel Douglas was retained as treasurer, after his 12-3 win over Nyron Delpesche. Keith Ollivierre – secretary, Alnif Williams – assistant secretary and Rosalo Mc Kie – public relations officer were installed unopposed.

In addition, several sub-committees will be formed to complement the work of the executive.

Apart from the elections, which were conducted by Devron Poyer, the administrative secretary of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation, the meeting was presented with the 2016 Financial Report by Douglas, who was the outgoing treasurer.(RT)
