Arnos Vale Football League welcomes thirty-two teams


The 2017 Hairoun/Computec/Comsports/BDO Arnos Vale Football League has welcomed a total of 32 teams.

Seven teams are lodged in the Premier Division. Listed are defending champions Guardian General Hope International, Avenues, System Three, Sion Hill, Je Belle FC, Awesome FC and Largo Height.

Meanwhile, 20 teams, stashed in two groups, make up the First Division. Group A has Largo Height, Computec Vincy Masters, System 3, NP Fair Hall United, Richmond Hill United, Sharpes United, Ruddy’s Electrical Strike Force, Volcanoes, Belfongo Toni Stores and Dove FC.

Making up Group B are Hope International, Strike Force Two, American University, United Strikers, Athletic, BESCO Pastures, Marriaqua Future Stars, Je Belle, Toney’s and Avenues.

Completing the participating teams are System 3, Primus Mini Mart Largo Height, Strike Force, Volcanoes and Belfongo Toni Store Jugglers.

When the league commenced last Saturday at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, Richmond Hill was adjudged the Best Dressed Team.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, chair of the league Michael John called on authorities to light more fields in the country to enable football to be played at nights.

Responding to John’s appeal, Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture Cecil Mc Kie informed that there are some advanced proposals to have the Arnos Vale One Playing Field lit.

Also addressing the opening was president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation Venold Coombs.
