Owia Young Strikers win again in Greiggs Softball Cricket

Defending champions Owia Young Strikers were among four winners last weekend, as another round of the St Vincent Brewery, Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Greiggs Twenty/20 Softball Cricket competition took place at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.

 Owia Young Strikers, on Sunday, beat Caesar’s Defenders by three wickets.

Caesar’s Defenders made 107 for 9 in their 20 overs. Curtis Pompey struck 25, while Rondell Munroe took 2 for 8. Owia Young Strikers replied with 108  for 7 in 17.3 overs. Marcus Hackshaw hit 27, while Stevie Bristol snared 3 for 26 for Caesar’s Defenders.

 Challengers, Bruce Law Chambers Smashers Inc and RSVG Police joined Owia Young Strikers as the other winners.

On Saturday, Hard Hitters were dismissed for 58 in 11.4 overs. Dale Duncan scored 23. Winston Bascombe took 4 for 11 and Keith Willams, 3 for 19. Challengers replied with 59 for 7 in 12.3 overs. Kimon John scored 14, while Dale Duncan had 3 for 14, as Challengers won by three wickets.

Also on Saturday, Smashers Inc had a 77-run win over Shop for Less Clinchers One.

 Smashers Inc posted 128 for 7 in their 20 overs. JR Ashton top scored with 34 and Kazim Haywood hit 31. Curlan John took 2 for 20. Clinchers One, in reply, made 51 all out. Rajiv Roberts led with 27. Romano Peters bagged 5 for 31.

And, 2011 champions RSVG Police won by 64 runs over Warriors on Sunday.

RSVG Police, on the back of 95 not out, reached 159 for 6 from their 20 overs. Kevin Small took 3 for 32.  Warriors made 95 all out in 17.4 overs. Lawson Mason led with 27. Demris Daniel bagged 4 for 16.
