Maloney, Hooper lead Premier Division’s cricket batting/bowling

Desron Maloney and Asif Hooper have forged ahead as the leading batsman and bowler respectively, in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division of the national cricket programme.

Maloney, who is into the first season with Police Two, having been enrolled in the local constabulary, has scored 345 runs from five matches and five innings. Maloney, who previously represented Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO, has the highest score of 120.

Apart from his century, Maloney has made two 50s and possesses a staggering average of 86.25.

Meanwhile, Hooper, who captains Team Rivals, has gathered 28 wickets from 5 matches and 9 innings. He has collected his wickets at 9.43 runs each.

Among Hooper’s tally are two five-wicket hauls, one seven-wicket take and a 10-wicket match haul.

Hooper is also in the running for the top allrounder award, as he has already garnered 182 runs from seven matches and seven innings.

Chasing down Maloney in the race for the top batsman is Guardian General Saints’ Rommel Currency, who is on 312 runs from five matches and seven innings.

Completing the top three batsmen is FLOW Radcliffe’s Gidron Pope, who has 258 runs, compiled from five matches and seven innings.

And, in the bowling department, Team Rivals’ veteran player Olanzo Jackson trails Hooper with 21 wickets and Police Two’s Kenneth Dember has taken 17 wickets from three matches and six innings.

In the six-team division, in which there are two rounds of competition, Saints leads the standings with 99 points from 7 matches.  Installed in second place is Team Rivals on 96 points, also from 7 matches.

Last year’s winner, FLOW Radcliffe, sits on 91 points from 7 matches; Police Two, 86 points from 6 matches, with Victors One on 52 points from six matches and ASCO, 19 points from seven outings.
