Jack stars as United Survivors retain women’s Greiggs softball title

Cordell Jack was again the spark for the United Survivors Cricket Club, which defeated Owia by nine wickets last Sunday, to win the 2017 Hairoun Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Greiggs Women’s 10/10 Softball Cricket Competition at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.

Owia United were 59 for 4 off their 10 overs, to which United Survivors replied with 60 for 1 off 6.5 overs.  Jack struck 33. Her innings earned her the Player of the Final award.

She was also the competition’s highest run-scorer, chalking up a total of 322 runs.

Meanwhile, Jennisha Hackshaw of Owia United had the most wickets – 9.

In the team awards, United Survivors were adjudged Most Disciplined Team in the competition and Bruce Law Chambers Nar Fren Dem the Best Dressed Team.

Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem was the other participating team.

Next up is the men’s 20/20 version, set to commence August 6, also at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.
