Fancy Government win Kiddy Cricket Skills Festival

The Fancy Government School, last Monday, won the Scotia Bank Kiddy Cricket Skills Festival final, held at the Arnos Vale Netball Complex.

Fancy Government outscored the former winners of the festival – the Cane End Government – when the two squared off in the deciding contest.

Tallying 237 points, Fancy Government were better than their opponents, who scored 206.

It was the second year that Cane End had to settle for the runner-up spot, as they endured the same fate in 2016, when they faced South Rivers Methodist at the same stage.

Taking the third place were the Pamelus Burke Primary and fourth place, the St Mary’s Roman Catholic.

The other finalists were the Sion Hill Government, the Greiggs Primary and the Calliaqua Anglican.

Missing the final was the Paradise Primary of Bequia, which did not make the trek across the channel.

The Pamelus Burke Primary were adjudged the Most Disciplined school team.

From the skills festival, a group will be selected to be part of a camp in August, to fine tune their abilities.

Next up, though, on the Kiddy Cricket programme, is the quiz competition.
