Dr Thomas Injectors win Softball Cricket Competition

The most involved team in softball cricket in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Thomas Injectors, last Sunday claimed the St Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Co-operative Credit Union’s Hill View 20/20 Competition, with a 49-run triumph over Warriors at the Keartons Playing Field.

Kezron Ashton stroked 37 and Elroy Nanton, 21, to see Injectors to 117 for 7 from their 20 overs.

Bowling for Warriors, Danroy Currency had 3 for 4 and Jamal Gould, 3 for 29.

Warriors were dismissed for 68 in 17.4 overs; Calvert Simon top scored with 15, while Damion Allen had 3 for 8 and Ezron Lavia, 2 for 9.

Kezron Ashton was adjudged Player of the Final.

Dr Thomas Injectors collected $1,000 and the winner’s trophy; Warriors, $ 600 and a trophy and third placed Prisons, $300.

Damion Allen was the competition’s leading run scorer with 177 runs. RSVG Police’s Rohan Howard was the top wicket-taker, with 13 scalps.

And, Summerset’s Kevin Small was named the competition’s MVP.
