Bailey, Durrant win SVG Cycling Union’s time trial
Zefal Bailey continued his winning ways when the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union hosted a time trial last Sunday morning.
Bailey, riding in the Elite division, took 10 minutes 5.21 seconds to complete the Arnos Vale to Brighton Gap route, a distance of 3.5 miles.
Baileyâs nearest competitor Enroy Lewis timed in 10 minutes 42.59 seconds, to record the second best time.
Completing the top three was Kemroy Marshall, who stepped up from the Mountain Bike category to join the Elites. Marshall on debut, did 12 minutes 44 seconds.
Meanwhile, Peter Durrant was first in the Mastersâ class. He did the distance in 11 minutes 3.38 seconds, ahead of second placed Steve Ollivierre, in 12 minutes 40.93 seconds.
Desmond Cox was third, in a time of 13 minutes 12.78 seconds, while Cedric Mc Intyre finished fourth in 14 minutes 27.80 seconds and Martin Bollers did 15 minutes 26.62 seconds, to be sixth.
Cyclists will, on June 18, compete in the Dasco Pharmacy sponsored National Championships, which will be a 70-mile event.
