Police Two roll over Team Rivals

Police Two rolled over Team Rivals by 10 wickets, in the lone National Lotteries Authority Premier Division match of the national cricket programme last weekend at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

Police Two, sent in by Team Rivals, posted 284 for 3 declared. Desron Maloney struck 120 not out, as he peppered 9 fours and 5 sixes in his 90-ball knock.

He shared in two century stands – 126 for the first wicket with Marcus John, who made 62 and 102 for the second with Andrew Thomas, who contributed 50.

John struck 9 fours and 1 six, while Thomas’ innings contained 5 fours and 3 sixes.

Bowling for a depleted Team Rivals, Dillon Douglas picked up 2 for 97.

Team Rivals’ innings closed at 160. Randel Williams top scored with 48, while Sylvan Spencer had 2 for 34 and Maloney, 2 for 35.

Batting a second time, Team Rivals, with only eight players, closed their innings at 128 for 7.

Dillon Douglas lashed 7 fours and 2 sixes in his top score of 70. Andrew Thomas snared 3 for 17 and Kevin Abraham, 2 for 31.

Police Two needed five runs to win; however, Team Rivals conceded the match, as they did not have the required seven players to take the field.

The Premier Division serves up two big clashes this weekend, as Guardian General Saints face off with Police Two at Arnos Vale One and at Sion Hill, Victors One and FLOW Radcliffe are set to rumble.

Police Two lead the standings on 65 points from four matches, with FLOW Radcliffe, 55 points, also from four matches.

Team Rivals are on 54 points and Guardian General Saints, 49 points, also from four matches.

Victors One is in fifth place on 38 points and Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO on 15 points.
