Century making brothers run riot over Victors One

Brothers, Sunil Ambris and Rommel Currency, both hit centuries, to lead Guardian General Saints in a run riot against Victors One, in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division of the national cricket programme.

Ambris, who struck 188, Currency, 109, and Jerron John, 56, combined to see Saints plunder 402 for 4 declared at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field last weekend.

Ambris’ 162-ball knock contained 22 fours and 1 six, while Currency struck 10 fours and John minted 7 fours and a six.

Ambris featured in a third-wicket stand of 163 with John and 177 for the fourth wicket with his elder brother.

Ray Jordan, 2 for 76, was the most successful bowler for Victors One, whose reply closed at 258.

Chrisroy John stroked 95, dotted with 10 boundaries, while Donwell Hector hit 6 fours in his knock of 69.

Bowling for Saints, Ambris bagged 4 for 12.

Asked to follow on, Victors One was 86 for 1 at the close, with Atticus Browne, 41 not out.

The other Premier Division fixture played at the Sion Hill Playing Field, resulted in defending champions FLOW Radcliffe humbling Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO by eight wickets.

Gidron Pope made a typical boundary-filled knock of 85, while Romano Pierre and Wayne Harper both scored 35, as Radcliffe posted 200 for 7.

Bowling for ASCO, Kenvil Sam took 3 for 4 and Konnard Adams, 2 for 42.

Othneil Lewis then bamboozled the ASCO batting, taking 5 for 40; Lindon James took 2 for 2 and Dyke Cato, 2 for 34, as ASCO fell for 99.

Trailing by 101 runs, ASCO were asked to bat again, managing 130 all out in their second visit to the crease.

Daren Sam was the top scorer with 36, as the wily Cato snared 6 for 54 and Richie Richards, 3 for 28.

Set 30 to win, Radcliffe reached the target for the loss of two scalps.

This weekend’s matches pit ASCO against Police Two at Sion Hill; Radcliffe and Team Rivals meet at Arnos Vale One.
