Bequia United lead football club championships

Bequia United are leading the premiership of the National Club Championships, held under the aegis of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation(SVGFF).

After six matches, Bequia United sit on 13 points, having won four matches, one drawn and one loss.

Sitting in second place are SV United with three wins, one draw and two losses, and 10 points, after six matches.

Meanwhile, Avenues, a former champion have collected 8 points, gained from four matches. Avenues have two wins and two drawn matches, putting them in fourth spot.

Like Avenues, System Three, last year’s champion, are yet to suffer a defeat. System Three have played three matches, winning two and drawing the other.

And, rounding up the top five are Hope International and Je Belle, who are both on six points.

Hope International, though, have played four matches, while Je Belle have played five.

Hope International have one win and three draws, and Je Belle, one win, three draws and one loss.

The other clubs in the championships are Sion Hill, BESCO Pastures, Camdonia Chelsea, Richland Park Pride and Joy, Greiggs and Volcanoes.

Up to last weekend’s fixtures, Sion Hill, BESCO Pastures and Campdonia–Chelsea, were locked on four points. Sion Hill have played four matches, with the other two having a match in hand.

Pride and Joy have three points from five matches; Volcanoes – two points from four matches and Greiggs – one point from five matches.

At stake for the winner is a $10 000 purse, and with the second place, an opportunity to be SVG’s representative at the 2018 CONCACAF Club Championships qualifiers.
