Outa Trouble One safe in PCCU Clinchers’ softball competition

Defending champions of the SVG Police Co-operative Credit Union Clinchers Softball Cricket competition Country Meet Town Outa Trouble One, were among winners in last weekend’s matches staged at the Richland Park Oval.

In Saturday’s second encounter, Outa Trouble One outplayed Smart S Smart Strikers, restricting them to 115 for 5 from 20 overs. Britnol Scott led with 59 not out. Richie Richards was Outa Trouble One’s most successful bowler, taking 3 for 18.

Outa Trouble One reached the winning target, scoring 116 for 5 from 14.2 overs. Davian Barnum struck 51 not out, while Aldine Spring grabbed 4 for 18, bowling for Smart Strikers.

Meanwhile, RSVG Police, Warriors Sports Club, Gairy Construction Simple Boyz and Gairy Construction Stingers joined the defending champions, in last weekend’s winners’ circle.

RSVG Police’s triumph was Saturday’s first match, as they defeated Mt Pleasant by nine wickets.

Mt Pleasant made 55 in 12.5 overs, with Kiminah Westfield taking 3 for 9 and Kevin John, 3 for 14 for the Police team.

RSVG Police responded with 58 from 1 from 4.4 overs. Desron Maloney struck 3 sixes and 4 fours in his 39 not out.

On Sunday, Warriors Sports Club defeated Shop for Less Nice Radio Clinchers One by five wickets.

Clinchers One scored 98 for 9 in 20 overs. Brent Saunders slammed 3 sixes and a four in his 28, while Jamal Williams picked off 3 for 34. Warriors Sports Club then replied with 101 for 5 off 18.3 overs.

Gairy Construction Simple Boyz defeated Fully Loaded Ballerz by five wickets.

Fully Loaded Ballerz made 99 for 4 from 20 overs. Roneke James’ 40 included 3 fours and 3 sixes and Las Harry contributed 31.

Simple Boyz replied with 100 for 5 in 13 overs. Stein Joseph, 33, (4 sixes) and Jabari Cunningham, 29, (2 fours), (3 sixes), led the batting.

Gairy Construction Stingers defeated Dr Thomas Injectors by six wickets.

Dr Thomas Injectors scored 102 from 18.2 overs.

Elroy Nanton got the top score of 25, hitting 2 sixes and 2 fours in the process. Calbert Simons snared 3 for 24. Gairy Construction Stingers responded with 106 for 4 in 19 overs, with the top score of 33 coming from Calbert Simons. His knock included 3 sixes and a pair of fours.

The Corea’s Distributors Player of the Weekend was Britnol Scott of Smart Strikers for his weekend highest score of 59 runs versus Outa Trouble One.
