SVGBF holds inaugural 3×3 Secondary Schools’ Basketball Tournament
The St Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation (SVGBF), will this Thursday and Friday, convene the first ever Secondary Schoolsâ 3 x 3 Basketball Tournament.
This inaugural tournament is slated for the Girlsâ High School hard court, bouncing off at 1 p.m. each day.
According to the SVGBF, âEach school can register up to three teams in each categoryâ.
Matches will be of 10 minutes duration with one time-out per team.
In the absence of a full-fledged schoolsâ basketball championships this year, the 3 x 3 tournament is being used for talent identification of players for the upcoming Windward Islands Schoolsâ Games, to be hosted here in St Vincent and the Grenadines in July.
In store for the winning schools, in both the male and female categories, is a HP Laser Jet 2600 printer.
Apart from being crowned the overall champions, the winning school will receive ongoing technical support from the SVGBF to assist with the basketball programmes at their respective schools.
And, each participating school will get official Wilson 3 x 3 balls, with two on offer to schools contesting one category and five for those who enter in the two gender categories.
The 3 x 3 basketball format is fast paced and allows for more time and activities, as tournaments can be completed within two days.
