SVGTTA second ranked Tournament swings off this weekend in G’town

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association (SVGTTA) confirms the holding of its second ranking tournament for 2017. It will be held this Saturday, April 8, at the Georgetown Secondary School. Student payers and residents of Georgetown are invited to attend and witness good competitive table tennis.

As in the past, all players ranked from 1 to 12 will enter the main draw directly – all other players must take part in the qualifying round robin draw. The qualifiers will commence at 10: 30 a.m. and the main draw from 1 p.m.

The association will make a van available to transport players wishing to take part. The vehicle will leave from the Peace Memorial Hall, Kingstown, at 9:05 a.m. and leaves Georgetown at 6 p.m. Players wishing to travel in between these times will be responsible for their own transportation.

Meanwhile this year’s National Firms and Industrial or “Business House” Tournament will be staged at the SVG Grammar School. The tournament is scheduled for April 18 – 29. All firms or businesses wishing to take part should confirm their participation by Friday, April 14.

Through this tournament, SVGTTA seeks to encourage lifelong table tennis players and partners through a combination of competitive and recreational play. In this regard, current and former national players cannot participate as players, but can serve as team coaches and managers. Firms can enter any amount of players, but only three can play in any team match.
