Iruel Matthias stands out in Scotia Bank U15 Cricket Competition

Iruel Matthias proved to be the top performer in this year’s Scotia Bank Schools’ Under-15 cricket competition.

When the standouts were recognized on Monday at a brief ceremony at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field, following the conclusion of the grand finale, he creamed off three of the five awards which were up for grabs.

Matthias, of the Georgetown Secondary School, claimed accolades for the Player of the Final, Most Runs and Best All-rounder of the competition.

Matthias snared 7 for 31, for his team against eventual winners the St Vincent Grammar School in Monday’s final.

Matthias also was the leading batsman with 91 runs, and adding his 13 scalps, made him the competition’s best all-rounder.

Meanwhile, the St Vincent Grammar School’s Jawanza Woods was the Top Wicket-taker with 14 wickets.

And, adjudged the Best Wicketkeeper was Sandy Bay Secondary’s Jarique Lavia.
