Guinness Black Ball Pool tournament heads for Troumaca

Action in the 2017 Guinness Black Ball Pool Competition continues tomorrow night Saturday, March 25, at Azard St Hill’s bar in Troumaca.

The winner of tomorrow’s eighth round of competition will seal their spot in the grand finale where they can win EC$5000 and the chance to call themselves the best pool shark in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

The grand finale will be held at the Marty’s Sport Bar on Friday, April 7.

However, last week it was the turn of Over the River Grocery in Sandy Bay to host the tournament and that round saw Hopewell resident Jahnyiah Gumbs reign supreme.

Gumbs became the seventh pool player to qualify for the grand finale after he defeated Tex Franklyn in the final game for the night. Gumbs had made it to the March 11 final game in Bequia but lost to, Lloyd Thomas of Richland Park.

The competition is the brainchild of the St. Vincent Brewery Limited and has as Tournament Supervisor and Trade Marketer at the Brewery Cleve “Skip” McKenzie.

Securing their place in the grand finale so far are Terry Phillips, Recardo Greaves, Ozzie St Hillaire, Alston Barker, Camillus Pitt, Lloyd Thomas and Jahnyiah Gumbs.
