Massy United Insurance on board with U-2 Secondary Schools’ Cricket Competition

Massy United Insurance Ltd is once again providing sponsorship of the national Secondary Schools’ Cricket Competition for 2017, within the Under-21 category. This year the competition is divided into two categories, the Under-15 and the Under-21.

A representative from Massy United Insurance’s local agency, Ronald Iton, recently handed over the sponsorship cheque to the Ministry of Education to ensure the continuation of this major youth cricket championship. Iton applauded the Ministry for its unswerving efforts in ensuring the development of this country’s young cricketers.

Defending champions Georgetown Secondary School will have to keep their eyes on West St George Secondary, as they are in fine form this year. The competition will see 17 other secondary school teams aiming to reach the finals later this month.

Massy United Insurance has been sponsoring this Secondary Schools Competition in St Vincent and the Grenadines and the OECS for more than 25 years. The main objective of the Secondary School Cricket Competitions is to identify talented junior cricketers, help develop their skills and serve as a nursery for the overall development of young cricketers in the OECS.

This is in keeping with Massy United Insurance’s commitment to the development of youth across the 18 territories in which it operates, via support of programmes which use sport to impart important life skills to young people in the region.
