United Survivors get run fest on Radcliffe in women’s cricket

United Survivors plundered 341 for 3 in 35 overs against Radcliffe Girls, on Sunday at the Stubbs Playing Field in the Women’s 40-0ver Cricket Competition.

Cordel Jack hammered 126 not out, her second ton for the season. Jack, a former West Indies player, clubbed 18 fours and a six, while Samantha Lynch’s 97 not out contained 17 fours. The two shared in a fourth-wicket unbroken stand of 216.

Adding to the run fest were 77 extras and 35 from Shevorne Clarke.

Gwenda Hoyte took all three wickets that fell at a cost of 48 runs.

Radcliffe Girls folded for 93 in 17. 2 overs, as United Survivors won by 248 runs. Jennisha Hackshaw hit 23.

Bowling for United Survivors, Sherma Wright took 2 for 17 and Cinecia Matthews had 2 for 17.

On Saturday, also at the Stubbs Playing Field, Garifuna Stars remained unbeaten, eeking out a 3-run triumph over Tigress.

Garifuna Stars made 113 all out in 25.4 overs. Nyasha Williams topped the batting, making 63, in an innings which contained 8 fours and a pair of sixes.

Bowling for Tigress, Isha Williams took 3 for 5, Samantha Caine got 3 for 19 and Shenezia Daniel, 2 for 33.

Caine then made 36, but Tigress could only reach 110 for 8 from 28.1 overs.

Nyasha Williams picked up 3 for 22, to gain the Player of the Match award and Jessica Lavia had 2 for 27.

All four teams will be in action this Saturday, as they were last weekend.

At the London Playing Field in Sandy Bay, Garifuna Stars host JG Tigress and at Stubbs, United Survivors again engage Radcliffe Girls, as the teams meet each other twice.

Both matches are set to bowl off at 12:30 p.m.
