ET Joshua Airport transforms into racing venue this weekend

The Vincy Motorsports Club (VIMOC) has received permission to host the first ever full-mile drag race event at the recently de-commissioned ET Joshua Airport.

Working along with the SVG Professional Auto Racing Club, the event has been scheduled for this weekend, with two days of drag racing activity, beginning on Saturday, March 4 and continuing Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 10 a.m.

Race enthusiasts and drivers from across the country have begun preparations to participate in this momentous occasion and some of the fastest cars in SVG will be on display. The event will be the first side-by-side, full-mile race and will allow SVG to now put their stamp on drag racing in the Caribbean.

This high speed drag racing event will be held on one of the most picturesque racing venues in the region. Entrance fee is $10 and kids under 12 enter free. Persons interested in racing have until 6 p.m. tonight to register and scrutineer at Nigel St Hillaire’s Garage.

VIMOC has thanked partners – KFC, Rock Hard Cement, SVG Cocoa Company, Tha Hook Up, Platinum Sounds and Xtreme 104.3 FM, Minors Construction, Cash Money Investments, Hairoun, OSV Group, SG Defreitas, and Coreas Auto Dept, who have given much support to this upcoming event.
