Players awarded with prizes from Clinchers Softball Cricket Competition

The outstanding players and teams that contested the 2015 SVG Police Co-operative Credit Union Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition, were last Sunday presented with their winnings.{{more}}

In the prize-giving ceremony which followed, Shamic Roberts, who is the Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz and Country Meets Town Outa Trouble One captain, was the main performer in the competition.

Roberts was named the Most Valuable Player and was the top wicket taker. Roberts copped 23 wickets and scored 123 runs.

He was among the recipients of the weekend’s awards for the top performer on each weekend of the competition.

Meanwhile, Outa Trouble’s Ozni Billingy took the award for the most runs, 178, while Stein Joseph, with 21 sixes, collected the award for the most sixes.

Other prizes presented included the Best Uniformed Team – Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem; Most Improved Team – Calder United and Most Promising Young Player – Carl Ragguette of Smart Strikers, who got the Gerald Gould Trophy.

Smart Strikers won the hearts of the adjudicators as the Most Disciplined Team.

Edgerton Morris of Simple Boyz was adjudged the Best Manager.

Jabarri Cunningham of Simple Boyz copped the award as player of last Sunday’s final.

Twenty teams took part in what was the fourth edition of the competition.(RT)
