Winners in 2013, Simple Boyz easily defeated Country Meet Town Outa Trouble One by nine wickets in the final on Sunday at the Richland Park Oval.

Simple Boyz, after winning the toss, inserted Outa Trouble One, who found the bowling of Kentish Phillips – 2 for 6 and Eldon Morris – 2 for 7, too much. Outa Trouble was stymied for 72 for 6 from their maximum 20 overs.

Captain Javed Harry hit three sixes and one four in his top score of 26 not out.

In reply, Simple Boyz hustled to 73 for 1 in 8.3 overs.

Player of the final Jabarri Cunningham struck six sixes in his knock of 44 not out, as Simple Boyz won by nine wickets.

It was the third title in six months that Simple Boyz were pouching, following wins in the Top Belair Progressive Organization and Biabou competitions which were secured last December.

Simple Boyz had also stopped Outa Trouble in the Biabou finals.

The third place play-off, which preceded the final, turned out to be a low-scoring affair, with Sion Hill Tallawahs emerging over Nice Radio Clinchers by two wickets.

Batting first, Clinchers were dismissed for 38 in 19.4 overs.

Bowling for Sion Hill Tallawahs, Collin Williams took 3 for 7 and Kerwin Williams 2 for 2.

But at their turn, Sion Hill Tallawahs were made to fight for every run but crossed the line at 39 for 8 in 16 overs.
