Mustique T/20 cricket competition spicing up

Cocolobora Star Grove Tags and Suranga Tama Hawks won their matches last weekend, as the Mustique Twenty/20 cricket competition spiced up at the Mustique Playing Field.{{more}}

Grove Tags gained a nine-wicket victory over Alumbera Sweepers. Batting first, Sweepers scored 143 off 19.2 overs.

Chadrick Carrington – 29 and Cedric Grant – 28, were the principal scorers.

Nicolas Baptiste took 3 for 23 and Felix Greaves 3 for 24, topping the bowling for Star Grove Tags, who responded manfully with 144 for 1.

It took then just eight overs to overhaul the total, with Omar Tucker striking 63 and Nicolas Baptiste 50 not out.

And, Tama Hawks stopped Pink House Tags by 147 runs.

Tama Hawks posted 213 for 3 off 20 overs, led by Shem Browne, who blasted 129 not out and Osborne Williams chipped in with 24.

At their turn, Pink House Tags were shot out for 60 off 14.5 overs; Sherberth Jacobs grabbed 4 for 9 and Shem Browne 3 for 5.

The competition is set to end on July 28.
