Cavaliers topple Middlesex in BCL all-Vincy clash

The much anticipated showdown between Cavaliers and Middlesex, two of the unbeaten teams in the Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL) came to realization last Sunday at Marine Park C.{{more}}

But it was the Cavaliers players and supporters, who were elated at the end of the match, as the two Vincentian outfits battled for supremacy and more so bragging rights.

Middlesex, in their innings, posted 229 for 5 from their 35 overs. Mark Audain – 63, Treldon McMillan – 61 and Rod Michael – 33, were the main scorers.

Bowling for Cavaliers, Shane Anthony had 3 for 67 and Shaquile Allick 2 for 26.

Shaquile Allick then slammed 107 not out, with former St Vincent and the Grenadines, Windward Islands and USA player Albert Tesheira, stroking 60 and Orland Mofford, 32, to see Cavaliers to 230 for 7 from 33 overs.

Kavir Sighn was the top bowler for Middlesex with 3 for 44 and Mark Audain took 2 for 41, but Cavaliers emerged winners by three wickets.

Cavaliers were coming off a good weekend, as on Saturday, they decimated Miami Power at Marine Park A.

Timothy Warner blew away Miami Power’s porous batting, taking 7 for 25, including a hat trick.

Cavaliers replied with 60 for 2, to win by eight wickets. Owen Earle struck 37 not out.

On Saturday though, at Seaview, Middlesex had softened Janoon by 131 runs, to dress rehearse for Sunday’s match.

Middlesex crafted 239 for 4 from 35 overs, Rawle Jackman made 62; Treldon McMillan hit 59 not out and Mark Audain – 33.

Janoon was then dismissed for 108, undone by the bowling of Mark Audain – 4 for 37 and Treldon Mc Millan – 3 for 21, to ensure a Middlesex triumph by 131 runs.
