Transport evades Coastguard in inter-ministerial football final

The Ministry of Transport and Works last Thursday afternoon heaped up and placed in its chassis the inter-ministerial football title.

With their temporary work place being the Grammar School Playing Field, Transport and Works players took command as SVG Coastguard ran aground.{{more}}

A goal each from Deptor Culzac, Akisha Nichols and Zenroy Lee gave Transport and Works a three – nil win, as Coastguard’s goal scoring compass malfunctioned.

Before engaging the SVG Coastguard, Ministry of Transport and Works outsmarted Customs by a three – nil score line.

Again it was the Richmond Hill duo of Culzac, who hit a brace and Lee, the other, who were in the driver’s seat, as their team coasted to the final.

Meanwhile, SVG Coastguard were able to put Treasury into receivership on kicks from the penalty spot, winning one – nil in the other semi-final.

This was necessary after both had played to a two-all tie in regulation time.

SVG Coastguard’s items were registered by Enos Hamlett and Ricardo Williams, while John Cordice and Leslie Prince credited for Treasury.

Treasury went on to take the third place, doing so easily, as Customs failed to show last Thursday for the play-off.

Next up on the agenda of the inter-ministerial programme of sporting events, will be the netball component, which gets going June 16.

Ministry of Transport and Works could be harbouring thoughts of taking this discipline as well, as they have also copped the Street 20 cricket title.(RT)
