Middlesex off to great start in BCL

Middlesex Cricket Club bowled off to a great start in the Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL) when they pocketed their first win against their Vincentian counterparts Queensbury at Sea View on Saturday, 16 May.{{more}}

Taking first strike, Middlesex, under the newly appointed captaincy of Rod Michael, scored an impressive 255 all out. Michael led from the front, stroking 76 and Treldon McMillan contributed 47.

For Queensbury, Bruno Henry was the most successful bowler, collecting 5 for 52 and Marcellus Stanford – 2 for 32.

In response, Queensbury, despite losing some early wickets, rallied back, but were dismissed for 204. Charles Lee struck 61.

Bowling for Middlesex, Dominic Audain finished with 4 for 37, Sherwin Brazil – 2 for 33 and following up his batting efforts, Treldon Mc Millan took 2 for 41, as Middlesex won by 51 runs.

After the break for Memorial weekend, Cavaliers will play back-to-back matches.

On Saturday, they face newcomers Janoon at Seaview and on Sunday engage Yankee at Marine Park A.

Also on Saturday, Queenberry will face Pak Brighton at Marine Park B, with Middlesex taking on Diplomats at Marine Park C and Imperial face off with Yankee at Marine Park D.

On Sunday, Janoon will play Queensbury at Marine Park B, while Middlesex play Miami Powers at Seaview. All matches bowl off at 1:30 p.m.
