Top goal scorers in NCIL finalized

Sharing the award are Malik Ferdinand and Denzil Bascombe of Central Kingstown and East Kingstown respectively.

They pipped Jahim Kirby of champions West Kingstown, who scored four goals.

But there was no tie in the Under-17 division, as South Leeward’s Jamal Bishop was the clear winner with 11 successful strikes. His team-mate Carlos Solomon was a close second with nine.

And, taking the trophy in the senior men’s division was Azhino Solomon of Central Kingstown. Solomon netted a total of 21 goals, outdoing his nearest rival — Tevin Slater of the champion team South Leeward. Slater had 17 goals to his name.

Three of the four top goal scorers — Ferdinand, Bishop and Solomon appeared in the finals, only to see their teams having to settle for second place.

Also, Bascombe, Bishop and Solomon were their respective teams’ captains, and all three are members of System Three Football Club.
