Valley Boys detain RSVG Police in Bagga Softball Cricket

RSVG Police felt what it is like to be on the wrong side of the Hairoun Beer Bagga Twenty/20 Softball Cricket competition and endured a 17-run defeat at the hands of Valley Boys.

The defending champions had an easy win on Saturday over KLM Men, but met resistance from Valley Boys on Sunday at the Keartons Playing Field.{{more}}

Valley Boys posted 113 for 8, after deciding to bat. Winston Bascombe was the coxswain of his team, steering the ship with 38.

Bowling for RSVG Police, Rohan Howard took 3 for 13.

Randy Yorke, with 24, got the only score of note, as the lawmen were pinned by the bowling of Valley Boys, led by Vennol Collis’ 3 for 7.

RSVG Police were dismissed for 96 in 18.3 overs.

Joining Valley Boys in the winners’ column were Hillview, Glen United and Buccament.

Hillview overcame Guidance by 73 runs, while Glen United stopped Topsidaz by six wickets.

Choosing to bat first, Hillview posted 120 for 7 in their 20 overs; Kevin Small slammed 45. In reply, Guidance then fell for 57 in 12.4 overs; Milton Trumpet collected 3 for 15, bowling for Hillview.

Also, Glen United made light work of Topsidaz.

Taking first strike, Topsidaz’s decision backfired, as they were dismissed for 48 in 14.5 overs. Cornelius Emmons and Marcus Hackshaw snared 3 for 3 and 3 for 12, respectively. Glen then patrolled to 49 for 4 in 11.3 overs.

Like RSVG Police on Saturday, Buccament claimed victory via the default route, as Sand Crab failed to show.(RT)
