Blue Marlins swim to success in St Lucia

The Blue Marlins Swim Club 12 and Under swam away with a total of six medals at the recently concluded 16th RHAC (Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre) Inter-Club Invitational Swim Meet, held in St Lucia, April 9-12.{{more}}

In the Girls 8 and Under category, Kennice Greene won silver medals in the 25-metre breast stroke and the 25-metre butterfly. She also won a bronze in the 200-metre freestyle.

In the Boys 8 and Under, Jayson Sandy won a silver medal in the 100-metre breast stroke, while Brandon George won a bronze in the 200-metre individual medley. In the 9-10 age group, older brother, Bryson George, also received a bronze medal in the 200 metre breast stroke. The other swimmers were Tai Joseph, Kylah Harry and Kenalé Alleyne.

All of the Blue Marlins members recorded personal best times. Kenalé Alleyne and Bryson George both had 10 top 10 finishes, while Kennice Greene, Jayson Sandy and Brandon George ended the weekend with nine top 10 finishes each. The swimmers were accompanied by their coach, Niesha Alexander.

The Black Sands Swim Club of SVG also travelled to St Lucia to take part in the weekend’s events and recorded great success. Sixteen swim clubs from six countries – Antigua and Barbuda, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Barbados, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines – participated in the meet.
