2015 Inter-Ministerial Sports and Games kicks off today

The 2015 Inter-Ministerial Sports and Games will begin today at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex hard courts with a Street T-20 Cricket competition.

Thirteen Ministries have confirmed their participation. They are: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and ICT; the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture;{{more}} the Ministry of Legal Affairs/Office of the DPP/CIPO; the Ministry of Transport and Works; the Ministry of Education; the Ministry of National Mobilization, Social Development Cooperatives and Youth; the Ministry of Finance and Planning; SVG Coastguard administrators; the Ministry of Housing, Informal Settlements, Physical Planning, Land and Surveys; the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Transformation, Forestry and Fisheries; the Ministry of National Security and the Office of the Prime Minister; the Ministry of Reconciliation, Public Service, Information and Labour; and the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Enviroment.

The Ministries were placed into three groups; a round-robin would be played, then the two top teams from each group, along with the two best third place teams, will go forward to form the quarter-finals.

Matches will begin at 4:30 p.m. daily.

The Inter-Ministerial Sports and Games will be completed over a seven-month period, in the respective disciplines: in April, Street 20 Cricket; in May, Modified Soccer; in June, Netball; in July, Table Tennis; in September, Volley Ball; in October, Tennis and Tug of War, and in November, Dominoes, Relay Classic, Road Relay and Bean Bag.

The Games are being organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture.
