Team Rivals add second win to Premier Division tally
Despite an under par performance, Team Rivals were good enough to leave Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO still pleading their case, when both teams met last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division of the national cricket programme.{{more}}
Facing off at the Sion Hill Playing Field, Team Rivals added another win to their 2015 campaign with a seven wicket win over their opponents.
ASCO, after being inserted by Team Rivals, reached 176 all out. Desron Maloney – 56, was the main stay of his teamâs batting.
The consistent Casmond Walters took 5 for 60 and Deighton Butler grabbed 4 for 40.
Harley Skerritt then struck 63 and Hyron Shallow- 37, to see Team Rivals to 220 all out.
Bowling for ASCO, Darius Martin snared 4 for 66 and Jenry Ollivierre – 37.
Batting a second time, ASCO fared worse, dismissed 134; Dean Browne hit 39.
Casmond Walters was again the destroyer, as he collected 6 for 55, to finish with a match haul of 116 and Kesrick Williams picked up 3 for 35.
Team Rivals reached 94 for 3, with Hyron Shallow leading the charge with 44.
Ronique Laborde took two of the wickets that fell, at the cost of 18 runs.
At the Arnos Vale One Playing Field, the News Spartans took first innings honours from LIME Radcliffe.
Spartans posted 298, on the back of worthwhile contributions from Gidron Pope- 67; Ronaldo Coombs- 58, Joey Welcome- 38, Kissinger Mc Lean- 37 and Nixon Mc Lean- 36.
This total was amassed thanks to the benevolence of the Radcliffeâs fielders who had a miserable day in the field, flooring several catches.
Dyke Cato, one of the guilty parties, picked up 5 for 77, amidst he and his team matesâ buttery fingers. In reply, Radcliffe made 157 all out; Michael St Hilllaire- 43.
And, asked to follow on, Radcliffe was 54 without loss, when play was called.
Likewise, Police Two secured first innings points from Victors One at the Stubbs Playing Field.
Police Two scored 271 for 9 declared; Salvan Browne- 65, Mc Leon Williams -50 and Marcus John 42. The lead bowler for Victors One was Atticus Browne – 3 for 29; Norlan Williams chipped in with 3 for 82.
Despite Lauron Francoisâ 48 and Donwell Hectorâs 41, Victors One could only make 160.
Kenneth Dember showed no mercy on his former teammates, picking up 3 for 34 and Elmore Alexander pouched 3 for 37.
