Set for March 25 at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field, both see the marquee event as an occasion for them to shine.

Woodley, who hails from Bequia, has already tasted success, as she placed second in the 3,000m which took place last Thursday during the boys’ heats.

She has a packed schedule on the day of the championships, competing in the Intermediate 800m and 1,500m, as well as the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m.

Woodley, who copped the Intermediate Champ and Victrix Ludorum at her school’s athletics meet, thinks she would be a force to be reckoned with, come the national schools’ showdown.

“I want to go out there and do my best for my school and put my best foot forward,” Woodley, who is also a member of the IT-DAT Academy declared.

Like Woodley, Williams expressed similar sentiments, as she too will be hoping that her efforts would be able to propel her school to the top.

Aiming to do her “best,” Williams would be competing in the 100m, 200m, 400m as well as the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m, on the day of the championships.

Eyeing the 400m especially, Williams wants to better her times in the event.

Coached by Pamenos Ballantyne, the Campden Park resident wants to go as far as she can in the sport. Both Woodley and Williams plan to use the period leading up the finals to fine-tune their preparations. (RT)
