National Cricket Competitions bowl off this weekend

The National Lotteries Authority Premier and First Divisions of the national cricket programme of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association bowl off this weekend.{{more}}

Two matches are set for the premier division at Arnos Vale Playing Field and the Stubbs Playing Field.

Arnos Vale One hosts defending champions – Team Rivals against newly promoted Triumph United and at Stubbs, the News Spartans will be at home to Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO.

Triumph United — runner up in last year’s First Division, took the place of the first place outfit — Ishallz Byam’s Physical Therapy, who reports say opted not to accept promotion to the Premier Division.

The other participating teams in the premier division are LIME Radcliffe, Guardian General Saints, Police Two and Victors One.

Matches in the premier division begin at 1pm on Saturday and 10 am on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the First Division, which is primarily a Sunday League sees action this Sunday at three venues.

Combined Youths face Radcliffe Two at Arnos Vale Two and at Sion Hill, Robertson Surveying Belmont takes on new entrant Prime Consulting Marriaqua. Both matches are in Pool A.

The lone Pool B match pits demoted Police One versus Smashers at Buccament.

Completing Pool A is Victors Two and Pool B’s complement also sees Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors, Georgetown Combined, Ishallz Byam’s Physical Therapy and another debutant in the competition- Belfongo.

All matches in this division are set for 10 am starts.(RT)
