Alexander, who turns 29 on February 21, had more to shout about last Friday, as she won the 400 metres with a season best of 52.20 seconds.

Before her record breaking effort last Saturday, on January 24, at the Lobo Collegiate Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Alexander had reset the record to 23.33 seconds, reducing the previous time of 23.54 seconds.

Also at that meet, she ran 52.66 seconds in her pet event – the 400m.

The following weekend, February 6, at the Aggie Invitational in College Station, Texas, she again ran to a new season best en route to winning both the 400m and 200m, in times of 52.46 seconds and 23.42 seconds respectively.

Her trail of events continues this week, when she moves on to two professional meets in Europe.

On February 19, Alexander will contest the 200m in Stockholm, then moves to Birmingham two days later, where she is set to run the 400m.(RT)
