The National Sports Council made some special presentations during last Saturdayâs hosting of the 2014 National Sports Awards Ceremony, held at Spring Gardens, Spring Estate.{{more}}
National Under-19 and Windwards wicketkeeper batsman Anson Latchman collected the award for âExcellent Performance in Sports and Academics,â for his ability to twin his sporting abilities with his academics, with equal success.
Meanwhile, Kenville Horne earned himself the Individual award and the tireless Ian Sardine was rewarded for âExemplary Voluntary Service.â
Taking the Chairmanâs Award was Ailma Sampson, with Sea Operations copping the Firmsâ Award.
The Barrouallie Sports Association was vested with the Organization Award.
Also stepping up to the podium was long standing groundsman Lenford Goodluck, who earned the Groundsman of the Year award, which he has earned for a second time.
Taking the Sports Photograph of the Year was Dr Lennox Adams and rewarded with the Sports Journalist of the Year was Rohan Thomas.
âFostering Lasting Friendship Through Sportsâ was the theme for last Saturdayâs ceremony.(RT)
