The teams will, however, have to wait until February 21 to know the outcome, as that is the date set aside for the clashes.

Team Rivals continued their merry march last Saturday at the Sion Hill Playing Field, as the preliminary round of the competition came to a close.

Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO was dismissed for 49, as only Desron Maloney, 32, stood in the way of total embarrassment.

Bowling for Team Rivals, Casmond Waters took 2 for 3, Roland Wilkinson 2 for 8, Olanzo Jackson 2 for 10 and Deighton Butler 2 for 11. Team Rivals replied with 52 without loss; Hyron Shallow was 20 not out.

Meanwhile, Victors One manhandled Police One by 60 runs, also at the Sion Hill venue.

Victors One made 126 for 7 from their 13 overs, as the match was reduced because of rain.

Atticus Browne, 37, Miles Bascombe, 27 and Donwell Hector, 22, were the principal scorers.

Bowling for Police One, Gareth Henry took 3 for 20 and Kevin Abraham, 2 for 28.

Police One were then foiled, and could only reach 66 for 4 from their 13 overs. Sylvan Spencer top scored with 28.

Shaquille Browne had figures of 2 for 13, bowling for Victors One. But, Guardian General Saints struck a bump en route to the semis, defeated by Police Two by six runs.

Playing at Arnos Vale Two, Salvan Browne stroked 37 and Mohammed Lavia was 20 not out, to lead Police Two to 116 for 8 from 17, as again rain caused a reduction in the overs.

Timothy Warner had picked 3 for 13, bowling for Saints, Andrew Emtage – 2 for 18 and Rolando Wright – 2 for 21.

Saints, however, stopped short of crossing the line, reaching 110 for 6 from their 17 overs.

Jeron John made 37, and Zane Edwards, 25, but the others could not get the job done.

Kenneth Dember with 2 for 20, was the pick of Police Two’s bowling.

But LIME Radcliffe gained easy points by the default route from Rivals Two at Stubbs; likewise, Triumph United over Buccament Bay Androids, as Arnos Vale Two had no action in the afternoon.

Both Rivals Two and Androids have defaulted to matches in the competition. (RT)
