Former national table tennis player dies


The SVG Table Tennis Association mourns the death of one of its former national female players: Vanda Anita Providence Pype.{{more}}

Anita, as she was popular known by most in the TT fraternity and throughout St Vincent and the Grenadines, died suddenly on January 22, 2015.

Anita won the National Female Singles title on several occasions and represented SVG many times during the 1970’s and early 1980’s.

She also teamed up with players like David Sky Llewellyn and Elliot Charles in Mixed Doubles, locally and regionally.

A release from the Association said they are saddened by her loss and they extend condolences to her family.

She will be laid to rest on Feburary 12, 2015.

Anita died at her home in the village of Sion Hill.
