St Hillaire beat Tex Franklyn in two straight games in the best of three finals. The men faced each other after they rose to the top from a group of 32 pool players.

During the first leg of the competition, which was held at the Drop Off Nightclub in San Souci on Saturday, January 24, St Hillaire was defeated in the finals by Alson Barker of Vermont, but he did not take any chances this time around and dispatched Franklyn to take home the EC$500 prize money and a place in the EC$5,000 finals.

“I feel good to have won the second round and I’m looking forward to the finals,” said St Hillaire.

Meanwhile, Franklyn said that he would be trying his luck during the third leg as he once again attempts to reach the finals.

During the finals, 10 persons will compete for EC$5,000.

The tournament’s third and fourth legs will take place on Saturday, February 7, at Nani Billingy’s Bar in Pembroke and West Side Bar in Rose Place, Kingstown.

The other legs will be held at Big City Life Bar in Richland Park on February 13, Aza DaSilva’s Bar in Troumaca on February 14, the Police Canteen in Kingstown on February 20 and in Bequia on February 21. The games begin at 8 p.m.

The tournament ends on February 28, after 10 preliminary rounds.

To enter the tournament, persons will have to go to the various venues during game time (8 p.m.) and purchase three Guinness beverages. On purchasing the drinks, you are automatically entered in the round of competition and will play three games against an opponent. The overall winner from that particular venue goes on to the finals, which is scheduled for February 28 at a venue to be determined. The winner in the finals gets EC$5,000, while each preliminary winner gets $500.
