Local Level One track and field coaches’ list goes up
Another sixteen certified Level One track and field coaches have been added to the stock in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Their induction came last Saturday afternoon, when Team Athletics SVG hosted its 2014 Awards Ceremony at Frenches House.{{more}}
The new coaches, which include eight males and seven females, are Shaquille Branker, OâNeil Cockburn, Noel Duncan, Steven Edwards, Bretisha Gregg, Urick Gurley, Odion Hillocks, Shirnan Jacobs, Chantal Legair, Rodger Ottley, Kassinda Prescod, Akiria Samuel, Semone Richardson, Leroyd Scrubb, Zoe-Ann Seymour and Dominique Stowe.
And, with the 16 coaches coming from a wide geographic spread, Team Athletics is hopeful that they will fuel its Long-Term Athlete Development Strategy
Odion Hillocks was the top performer in both the theoretical and practical assessments of the 10-day course, held from December 2 to 12 last year at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.
Among the topics looked at were Conditioning, Talent Identification, Sensitive Phases, Communication, Growth and Development, Training, Skills Training and Motivation.
These topics, as well as others, were delivered by facilitators Rosmund Griffith and Rawlson Morgan.(RT)
