Teams are setting themselves well, as another packed weekend of cricket was served up, and the national Twenty/20 competition motors on.

Last Saturday saw another six matches contested, and with favourable weather on their side, all went the distance.

Defending winners Team Rivals, Guardian General Saints, Victors One and Combined Youths kept their winning record in place.

Rivals made light work of Radcliffe Too at Sion Hill. Harley struck his second half century in as many matches – 60 and Marvin Small – 29, to see Rivals to 152 for 3 from their 20 overs.

Radcliffe Too was dismissed for 91. Kensley Joseph made 37.

Deighton Butler – 3 for 14 and Olanzo Jackson – 2 for 12, were the lead bowlers for Team Rivals.

Similarly, Saints made it three wins from three, dismissing Bequia by nine wickets at Arnos Vale Two.

Bequia scored 119; Chelson Stowe made 29 and Mesach Williams – 28.

Bowling for Saints, Teran Simon took 3 for 32 and Ray Charles – 2 for 19.

In reply, Saints reached 120 for 1; Rickford Walker scored 37, Zane Edwards – 34 and Vincent Cupid – 31.

Meanwhile, Victors One recorded a six-wicket win over Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO at Arnos Vale One.

ASCO made 122 all out; Roger Gibson top scored with 26 not out.

Shaquille Browne snared his second five-wicket haul, bagging 5 for 20; Ron Daniel took 2 for 17 and Norlan Williams – 2 for 38.

Atticus Browne – 43, Ronaldo Coombs – 29 and Shaquille Browne – 20 not out, saw Victors One to 128 for 4.

Also, Combined Youths sidestepped Smashers by six wickets at Stubbs.

Raydon Bentick led Smashers’ batting as he struck 69, to see his team to 133. Marlon Farrell grabbed 4 for 9, bowling for Combined Youths.

Frankie Farrell – 74, then navigated Combined Youths to 135 for 4. Anthony Charles took 2 for 23, in a losing cause for Smashers.

But it was a case of one up, one down for Bequia and ASCO, who both were victorious in their first outings Saturday morning.

Bequia overcame Triumph United at Arnos Vale One and ASCO outdid Police One at Arnos Vale Two.

Rajiv Roberts snared 3 for 19 and there were two wickets each for Orlando Billingy and Jenry Ollivierre, as Triumph United was sent packing for 83.

Cosmus Hackshaw then belted 37 and Orlando Billingy – 30, to see Bequia to 86 for 2. Rohan Ash took both scalps for 11 runs.

ASCO, led by Renrick Williams’ 52 and 27 from Kelshun Da Silva, managed 124 for 9.

Sylvan Spencer copped 3 for 7 and Vertil Davis – 2 for 33, but Police One could only respond with 104 for 9, giving ASCO the win by 20 runs.

Jeffrey Laborde hit 27, to be the top scorer, as Andre Hunte took 3 for 17, Deron Greaves – 2 for 16 and Dean Browne – 2 for 23, bowling for ASCO. (RT)
