SVGTTA hands over table tennis board, rackets to LVGS

The SVG Table Tennis Association (SVGTTA) has placed a table tennis board at the Lodge Village Government School.

The board, along with four rackets, were handed over to acting head teacher of the school Cassandra Barrow by president of the SVGTTA Tyrone Jack,{{more}} while coach Joseph Carrington, acting director of Sports Woodrow Williams, class teacher Anita Daniel and coach Deighton King looked on.

According to president Jack, in his brief remarks at the handing over, “This placement/donation forms part of the Association’s plan in working with the Ministry of Education and the Division of Physical Education and Sport in spreading and developing the sport throughout the country.”

Presently, the Division of Sports has been conducting table tennis coaching sessions for students in a number of primary and secondary schools. The Lodge Village Government school would now be added to the list.

The handing over took place on January 6.
