TASVG unveils packed 2015 calendar

The next twelve months will be chock-o-block for Team Athletics SVG, as the year’s listing of track and field activities unfold.

Starting this Saturday, January 10, will be the Throws Classic, which takes place at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field.{{more}}

Saturday, January 17, sees the hosting of the first mini meet set for the Victoria Park, with Saturday, January 24, set aside for the Jumps Classic at the Arnos Vale Two venue.

During the month of February, two major events are scheduled.

The National Relay Classic is slated for the Victoria Park on February 7 and the National Juvenile Championships at the Arnos Vale Playing Field, February 28.

In between, two mini meets are pencilled in for February 14 and 21. The first takes place at various venues, with the latter set for the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

CARIFTA trials take place March 7 at the Arnos Vale Playing Field and on March 21, the National Hurdles Classic comes off at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

Meanwhile, mini meets are on the agenda for April 4 and 18, with the National Kids In Athletics Festival to be run off at the Victoria Park, April 11.

May 9 would see the National Teams Championships and the National Championships (May 23 and 24)

Also on May 16, is the return of the Inter Financial Games, which did not take place in 2014.

These three events are scheduled for the Arnos Vale One facility.

Local athletes will be using the track and field outings as preps for several major regional and international competitions, at which St Vincent and the Grenadines is expected to have a presence.(RT)
