In the process, Young Strikers left host team Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem to sob and disappoint supporters once again.

Choosing to bat, Nar Fren Dem, after a solid start, fell away in the middle part of their innings to eventually score 107 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Keno Matthews led his team’s batting with 33, in which he hit two fours and three sixes. Shamic Roberts, at the top of the order, compiled 24 and propping up the innings was Damron Prince, who pounded 21 not out.

Rolando Wright, a special call up for the final, snared 3 for 15 with his left arm chokers and Marcus Hackshaw chipped in with 2 for 17.

Young Strikers replied manfully with 110 for 6 in 15.1 overs. Player of the Final Rohan Lavia stroked 33, in which he blasted five sixes.

Shawn Harry contributed 20 and there were 14 extras to Young Strikers’ good.

The multi-talented Keno Matthews was Nar Fren Dem’s best bowler, taking 2 for 21, before speeding off to play in a football final in Cane End.

Meanwhile, 2012 winners and 2013 losing finalists – CGM Gallagher Novice – ensured they were in the list of top three places, as they pouched the third place play-off.

Facing Nice Radio Clinchers in the consolation match which prefaced the final, Novice won by two wickets. Clinchers scored 85, to which Novice replied with 90 for 8.

Young Strikers pocketed $2,500; Nar Fren Dem $1,500 and CGM Novice $1000.(RT)
