Keno Matthews headlines awards in Greiggs Softball Cricket Competition
Keno Matthews was last Sunday declared the Top Performer of the 2014 edition of the Sea Operations/Hairoun Beer/KCCU/Courtesy Sports/Greiggs Development Organizationâs Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}
Mathews of Sea Operations Nar Fen Dem was the Top Wicket Taker with 18 scalps. He also scored 118 runs, which earned him the Best All-rounder award. Matthews was the obvious choice for Player of the Series.
Elton Williams, of third placed team CGM Novice, scored the most runs â 237. Williams was one of three centurions, which list also included Roderick Williams of RSVG Police and Desron Maloney of Gairyâs Construction Simple Boys.
Noviceâs Renrick Williams was rewarded for taking the Best Catch in the competition, while Nar Fren Demâs Jamal John got the Best Wicketkeeper award. John held on to five catches behind the stumps and had three batsmen dismissed by way of stumping.
Rohan Lavia of the champion team Owia Young Strikers was named Player of the Final.
Dr Thomas Injectors was adjudged the Most Disciplined Team and Fully Loaded, the Best Dressed outfit.
The Most Loyal Spectator was Maria Drayton, while the Nar Fren Dem organization awarded the 15 students of the Greiggs Primary School who were successful at this yearâs Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA), with a start-up savings account of $50 at the Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union.(RT)
