Garwin Phillips, who represented SVG, won the masters’ title and placed 2nd in the superheavy weight category.

Eight athletes competed in the masters and 11 in the superheavy weight.

The Federation returned to the CAC event after a long break and was warmly welcomed, along with the US Virgin Islands.

The team had the pleasure of past president of the CACBBFF Lt Col Bruce Barclay being in their presence.

More than 250 athletes from 28 countries participated in the event.

The championship was opened for the first time with a parade of nations through the streets of St Maarten on the French side and athletes were weighed-in in the open.

This year the CACBBFF held its election. The president was returned un-opposed.

The Federation hopes that with this victory and its return to the CACBBFF, the sport will move forward.

Next month will see the first of many workshops and seminars as the executive and interested persons seek to bring back awareness of the sport.

The National Championship is scheduled for August next year.
