Campbell dominates in Stubbs Masters’ Cricket win

Christopher Campbell made the greatest difference in helping Stanley Browne’s Stubbs overcome Computec Belfongo at the Park Hill Playing Field in the SVG Masters Twenty/20 Cricket competition.{{more}}

Stubbs, which did not have their full complement of players, only the minimal seven, reached 145 all out, off 16.3 overs, with Christopher Campbell – 102, almost singlehandedly taking them there.

The right-handed Campbell counted 11 sixes and four fours; Aaron Bascombe and Wendell Glasgow picked up two wickets each.

Computec Belfongo, in reply, made 132 for 9 off 20 overs. Jesemiah Browne struck 36, as Stubbs won by 13 runs.

There were also wins for St Vincent Cooperative Bank Ptani and North East, also played at the Park Hill venue.

Ptani defeated Kirk Da Silva’s La Croix by eight wickets.

La Croix were 40 all out off 12.5 overs; Ray Richards had 4 for 15. Ptani, in reply, made 44 for 2 off 7 overs.

And, North East saw off Cato’s Heavy Equipment Glamorgan by nine wickets.

Glamorgan made 73 for 9 off 20 overs, to which North East responded with 74 for 1 off 12.3 overs; Peter Campbell was 33 not out.

Six matches are slated for this weekend at two venues.

On Saturday at Park Hill, Stubbs face Glamorgan and at Buccament Sion Hill engage Metrocint General Insurance Sagicor Richards Masters. Both matches are set to commence at 2 p.m.

On Sunday at Park Hill, it will be the Bequia Cricket Association Masters versus Belfongo from 10 a.m., then from 2 p.m, North East meets Ptani.

At Buccament from 10 a.m., Pastures and Henny Penny meet and from 2 p.m., LOG Enterprises Kingstown face off with RSVG Police.(RT)
