Somerset defuse Ruddy’s Electrical in North Leeward T-20 Cricket


Somerset defeated defending champion Ruddy’s Electrical by five wickets, while Ajuba edged out RSVG Police by six wickets in Sunday’s matches of the Vinlec North Leeward Sports Association T-20 competition at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}

Ruddy’s Electrical scored 175 for 6 off 18 overs, reduced because of a late start. Christopher Campbell stroked 44, Christroy John 39 and Ronald Slater 34. Jadiul Chance had 2 for 37 and Rellan McKie 2 for 45.

Somerset responded with 176 for 5 off 17.3 overs; John Williams was 51 not out, Rellan Mckie, 37 and Omar Tucker, 25. Joe Horne took 2 for 43.

And, RSVG Police were dismissed for 203 off 20 overs; Mc Leon Williams made 53 and Salvan Browne 30. Walliston Stapleton grabbed 3 for 49, Shaquille Browne 2 for 23 and Reginald Jeffery 2 for 28.

In reply, Ajuba chalked up 209 for 4 off 19.5 overs, winning off the penultimate ball. Kenny Stapleton slammed 66, Shaquille Browne, 47 not out, and Harley Skerritt, 37 not out. Kenneth Dember picked up 2 for 37 in a losing cause for Police.

Three matches are carded for this weekend.

On Saturday from 1:30 p.m., Ruddy’s Electrical engage Robertson Surveying Future Legends.

Then, on Sunday, from 10 a.m., Simple Sounds Family oppose Carlos James Peto Triumph and from 1:30 p.m., Carlos James Peto Triumph face off with Robertson Surveying Future Legends. (RT)
