Ballantyne dominated the field before crossing the finish line in 15 minutes and 36 seconds.

The Vincentian, who has had previous outings in the race, and who placed third in 2013, led the field, leaving Guyanese Kelvin Johnson and Trinidad and Tobago’s Curtis Cox to settle for second and third respectively.

Ballantyne, who turns 41 in December, has his next assignment later this month, when he leads the St Vincent and Grenadines’ team in the NACAC/OECS Invitational four-leg road relay here, around capital Kingstown.

He also is set for the Guadeloupe 10K next month, as well as the UWISPEC half marathon in Trinidad and Tobago. Ballantyne told SEARCHLIGHT that he is prepping himself for representation at international senior championships, since he is into the twilight years. (RT)
